Cully had been bred for the sake of being an expert combatant, in much the same way racehorses are. A process that resulted in the emergence of many tumors around her body. She fought her way from being food for other gladiatorial monsters all the way to one of the best competitors in the arena.

She never suspected, or perhaps tried to forget she'd become part of the process herself. But here she is, now knowing for sure the results of her having been gassed months ago.
